VFC – Vinaseed – Bình Điền II (2 Phong) cooperate to Improve Rice Farmers’ Income

Within the framework of the Vietnam Rice Industry International Festival – Hau Giang 2023, on the afternoon of 12 December in Vi Thanh city, Hau Giang province, two member companies of PAN Group – Vietnam Fumigation Joint Stock Company (VFC) and Vietnam National Seed Group Joint Stock Company (Vinaseed) – together with Binh Dien II Fertilizer Production and Trading Joint Stock Company (2 Phong) signed a cooperation memorandum to develop rice value chain cultivation models in the Mekong Delta region.

In alignment with the national-level project, PAN Group is working with Dong Thap province to develop and implement the Project “Improving Rice Farmers’ Income”, building closed rice value chain models and providing sustainable agricultural solutions – a core strength of the Group.

The project supports farmers from the outset with quality seed sources, standardized cultivation protocols and effective pest and disease management solutions.

All these efforts aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture and increase farmers’ incomes in the project areas.

Under this tripartite cooperation, VFC, Vinaseed and Binh Dien II (2 Phong) have concretely rolled out the “Improving Rice Farmers’ Income” Project. The three parties agreed to jointly develop an integrated technical solution package to help farmers reduce production costs, increase yields, cut greenhouse gas emissions and ensure food safety. The package combines Vinaseed’s rice varieties, fertilizers from Binh Dien II (2 Phong) and crop protection solutions from VFC.

VFC, Vinaseed and Binh Dien II (2 Phong) plan to jointly monitor and supervise field implementation, guide farmers in adhering to the technical protocols, and assess field performance at each growth stage. In parallel, the three parties will coordinate technical transfer activities, promotion and dissemination of results.

Since early December 2023, the parties have begun supplying seeds, crop protection products and fertilizers to many farming households in each company’s linkage areas.

Also at the Festival, the two PAN Group member companies and Binh Dien II (2 Phong) jointly participated in the exhibition, showcasing and demonstrating the rice value chain solution package at PAN Group’s two booths.
